TRF Online Dissolution Concentration Meter
TRF type on-line solution concentration meter is a high-precision on-line instrument based on the principle of optical critical angle measurement. It is mainly used for the control and guarantee of product quality in the industrial production process. It can be used for quality control of raw materials and finished products. TRF type on-line solution concentration meter is composed of digital sensor and smart transmitter. Among them, the digital sensor adopts the standard MODBUS communication protocol. Refractive index is an inherent property of a substance and changes according to temperature and wavelength. When two substances are mixed into a solution, there is a good correlation between their ratio (concentration) and refractive index. Therefore, when the temperature and wavelength are known, the concentration of the solution can be detected by detecting the refractive index. Refractive index based concentration detection is mainly for binary mixtures (liquids consist of only two components).
Of course, in practical applications, if the concentration change of a multi-component solution system (there are multiple components in the liquid) is only caused by the change of one of the components, it is also possible to accurately measure the refractive index. As shown in the figure below, the light from the LED passes through the surface of the prism to the working surface (the contact surface of the prism and the process fluid). The light reaching the working surface crosses the working surface at a series of angles, including the critical angle (Ic) with the fluid being measured. The light passing through the working surface at an angle smaller than the critical angle is refracted into the measurement fluid, and the light passing through the working surface at an angle larger than the critical angle is totally reflected and passes through the prism to reach the CCD linear array group. The critical angle is the light and dark area of the dividing line. The refractive index of the measured object can be obtained by analyzing the image detected by the CCD. After further processing, it can be converted into the concentration of the measured object. When the refractive index of the process fluid changes, the change in the critical angle will change the ratio of light / dark time and is detected by the CCD. The change in time interval is processed and enhanced and displayed in the form of refractive index, Brix, solids content, or other units of measurement.
